Wanderful | The Best Travel Community for Women + 14-Day Free Trial

Look no further if you’re searching for a community of diverse travel-loving women! I’d like to introduce you to Wanderful, a global network of ladies passionate about helping and supporting other women while they travel.

The travel experience is much different for women than it is for men. As a female traveler, have you ever asked a question about an upcoming trip in a travel group and faced sloppy, unhelpful, or plainly rude answers from men in that group?

I sure have! For instance, before my trip to New Zealand, I asked people to share their first-hand experiences buying contact lenses while traveling abroad in a general travel Facebook group. The only people who responded were men, whose answers were like this: “Go to a doctor. Get contacts. Easy.”

My very sarcastic thoughts when reading their responses:” Cool. Helpful. Thanks.”

So, I asked the same question in the Wanderful Women Who Travel Facebook group and received much more insightful and helpful feedback from the women there. If you’ve had similar experiences, a travel community like Wanderful is just what you need!

What Is Wanderful?

It is a global network of travel-loving friends you haven’t met yet! It’s also a platform for creators (bloggers/vloggers, entrepreneurs, travel writers, photographers, app creators, tour leaders, tourism boards, etc.) to network and support each other.

Most importantly, it’s a welcoming and diverse community representing what I think life and travel should be. Intersectionality and inclusivity are Wanderful’s top strengths, which kept me coming back for more. This community welcomes and supports women of all ages, shapes, sizes, and backgrounds.

How to Join the Wanderful Travel Community

Membership starts free and is open to anyone who identifies as a woman or is an ally of women. Here are the usual steps of membership:

Wanderful Women Who Travel Facebook group

Step 1. Join the free Wanderful Women Who Travel Facebook group to see how you like it. Engage with the women there, answer their questions, and ask your own! I know women in the group will answer your questions with respect and experience-based knowledge.

Step 2. Seek out a meetup hosted by a Local Hub. There are 30+ hubs in the US and Europe right now. Anyone can join a Local Hub and attend their free events, whether they live in that city or are just visiting. However, fees may apply to attend some member-only virtual and in-person events. Keep reading to learn more about events.

Step 3. When you’re hungry for more (and you will be!), upgrading to a paid membership will provide a more profound experience and many more benefits. There are two tiers of membership, one for travelers and one for creators.

Types of Wanderful Memberships

There are three different membership types or tiers to choose from.

Traveler Membership | Members receive access to a private online community forum accessible online using the Mighty Networks app. They also receive free admission to local hub events, daily virtual events and meetups, a global hosting network, helpful webinars, learning modules, community deals and discounts, and special perks at global events. Local Hubs

As I mentioned, there are 30+ Local Hubs in North America and Europe, with new hubs frequently popping up.

I recommend joining the local hub closest to where you live to meet local travelers and joining the local hubs in the cities you plan to visit. By joining other hubs, you’ll get expert advice from local women and others who have traveled there. I met up with the London hub director while I was there, and she took me on a beautiful Christmas light, bookstore, and hot chocolate stroll around the city – it was spectacular!

Hub leaders plan in-person events for members and visitors in their cities, like quick happy hour meetups or explore-your-own city outings.

Events + Travel Opportunities

WITS Travel Creator Summit | This conference for travel content creators and bloggers prioritizes information sharing, networking, and discussing complex travel topics. Past summits have been held in cities across North America and Europe and entirely online during the pandemic. The next WITS will be May 16-18 in Downtown New York City.

Global Meetups | These members-only trips allow you to “travel alone, together” with other Wanderful members. While there, you can enjoy a lightly curated itinerary hosted by the local Wanderful hub and have the flexibility and freedom to explore the destination independently. Upcoming Global Meetups will be in Lisbon and Mexico City.

Other Travel Opportunities | Trips planned in partnership with select tour groups exclusively for members. Wanderful has planned an upcoming trip to Jordan and a second trip to Antarctica sometime in 2026. Wanderfest

Sponsored Events | Sometimes, Wanderful sponsors meetups in partnership with other national and international travel brands like Hostelling International or G Adventures. Follow Wanderful on Instagram or Facebook, or subscribe to their newsletter for updates on events like this.

Benefits of Wanderful Membership

As a paying Wanderful member, you gain access to even more benefits.

Plus, a travel book club with special appearances from the book authors and regular goals meetups to help them achieve their travel dreams.

Exclusive Member Portal | This is where member-only virtual events and announcements happen. You can engage with a tight-knit group of women who are as obsessed with travel as you are 24 hours a day. Members live in countries worldwide, so someone is always online!

Local Hubs | Explore locally curated travel resources, get tips from locals on how to visit their cities, and see the schedule for local events to meet others in person.

Travel Deals and Discounts | Members receive exclusive special discounts on Wanderful trips, travel brands, and other services catering to travelers.

Wanderful Charm Bracelet | Receive a charm bracelet at your first in-person meetup or event.

Sponsor Another Member | This is one of the most incredible features. Every paid annual membership is matched with sponsorship (like a scholarship) for another member who may be unable to afford it.

My Wanderful Story

If you can’t tell, I’m a big supporter of this community. I’ve been a member – and self-proclaimed Number 1 Fan – since 2015. It’s strange to say it’s only been that long. It seems like I’ve known some of the women I’ve met through Wanderful my entire life.

I was first introduced to Wanderful as a volunteer at WITS Boston in 2015 while looking for new blogger friends. Since that weekend, I have attended many Boston hub events. I met up with the London hub director in her city, who took me and another friend on a hot chocolate and Christmas light tour one night. I started a hub here on Cape Cod shortly after that trip, but I have since stepped down from that position.

After that first WITS in Boston, I’ve been to several subsequent WITS, including Irvine, California; Portland, Maine; Quebec City, Canada; Riga, Latvia; and Salt Lake City, Utah. My first FAM trip was through Wanderful, where I explored Gauja National Park and Segulda with Latvia Tourism.

In short, being a Wanderful member has opened so many doors for me personally and professionally. Because of Wanderful, I’m a more confident traveler, blogger, and entrepreneur.
